    I would feel better about the illustration if the center triangle were entitled “Full Assurance” and the verse changed to 5:13. After all, the title at the top is about assurance.

      Yes, agreed. I read it that way because of the title – even through v. 11. That is, the testimony or witness to assurance of our eternal life is based upon the pillars love, obedience, and faith. Actually, perhaps those three pillars are the key. Of course, John speaks of the testimony of the Holy Spirit as well. Thanks for the input. I’m thinking about re-working this for a retreat up at Wolf Mountain with the some junior and senior high students in a week or so.
