Peace and Joy

“Bring my sons from far away, and my daughters from the ends of the earth – everyone who bears my name and is created for my glory. I have formed them; indeed, I have made them…No god was formed before me, and there will be none after me. I – I am the LORD. Besides me, there is no Savior …So you are my witnesses [that] I am God” (Isaiah 43.8-12).

There is no greater joy than living a life for which I am created. That is when I have the most peace. Happiness and peace are fleeting for people who are devoid of a relationship with Christ. One only need to face a terminal illness and the prospect of meeting his Maker to understand this. Those so confident in life are unable to find joy and peace in the midst of such upheaval at the prospect of death.

The fruit of the Holy Spirit for the believer is peace. This peace is a peace that surpasses human understanding. The fruit of the Holy Spirit for the believer is joy. This joy is inexpressible and full of glory. Where do I find such peace and joy? I find both in God. God gives me joy and peace because of His Son. Nobody takes it away from me. No circumstance erodes my joy and peace. This is my testimony only by the grace of God.
