I will bring the blind by a way they did not know;
I will lead them in paths they have not known.
I will make darkness light before them,
And crooked places straight.
These things I will do for them,
And not forsake them.
Isaiah 42:16
I don’t know the way ahead. I don’t see the various routes available for me. I’m in the dark when it comes to the future, but I am not alone nor forsaken. I cling to the promise that the Lord Jesus is with me. His Spirit dwells in me. His return to “bring forth justice for truth” (Isaiah 42.3). and “justice in the earth” (v. 4) brings great hope not only for Israel but also for the church.
Contentment and hope in this life are supported by the facts the Jesus “Himself said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say: ‘The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me’ (Hebrews 13.5-6)?”
Since I am limited and cannot know the future, I ought to check myself when I’m tempted to complain. God is most certainly in control. I simply must remain steadfast and patient. Also, I must be a wise steward of my time here. It is wise for me to “commit my way to the LORD” to also “trust in Him” while knowing that “He shall bring it to pass” (Psalm 37.5). What shall He bring to pass? All that He has promised.
Our God will indeed bring the blind by a way they did not know. He will lead them in paths they have not known. God will make darkness light, crooked paths straight, and forsaken people His own children.
Necessary read for me. I will be saving this one. Thank you.
